Diaper tote gone wrong...

but put a better use. When I first started to change my pattern for my diaper tote, I followed someone's tutorial...which I followed incorrectly and resulted in a bag you couldn't really even put a diaper in (maybe a small one). I sewed some Velcro on and it's the perfect first aid kit bag for my diaper bag. Everything is easy to find in one place.......

In it I have wipes, neo-2-go, band aids, Tylenol, gauze, tape, alcohol wipes, after bite (for stings), tissues, tweezers, and a small pair of scissors.

High CHair Mat

Good thing this is just for our own use. I mismeasured the UF section, so I couldn't cut off the white outer edge, oh well!! Gotta make mistakes to learn. I used printed vinyl tablecloths and just cut it into squares and sewed it together to create the mat. Hubby and I went to both schools, so in order to keep peace in the house things for Kelsey represent both schools!!

Diaper cloths and wipes cases

I made these diaper cloths with a pre-fold, ribbon and quilt binding.

This wipes case is covered with a flannel fabric
This wipes case matches a diaper tote I made for my sister. (which I don't have a picture of)

Stroller Blanket

I made this blanket for a friend(Sarah, if you happen to come across this blog, it's for you!!! Well, really for Jackson). I used printed flannel on one side and a solid fleece on the other. I decided against the typical ties that are found on a stroller blanket, so that it can be used as a regular blanket as well. Instead, I put "taggie" loops down the side so it can be attached to the stroller with elastic of another piece of ribbon.

Things that were posted on my other blog....

Here's a link to my first diaper tote I made and wipes case http://kelseysummer.blogspot.com/2008/05/im-crafty.html

You can see all the raw edges (Since I don't own a serger I've since come up with a new pattern to solve that problem) This is the bag I use everyday, eventually I should prob make myself one of my new ones so it looks better!

Headbands

This is super easy and there is a link to the tutorial I used in the post.

A new blog....

So at the advice of my big sis (Thanks CP) I created a blog so I can showcase my sewing creations. I'm still learning to sew better, and as soon as I am 100% satisfied that everything is perfect, I may begin selling some of my stuff. For now, I use friends and family as my guinea pigs as I learn to get better. My idea when I do start selling things is to donate a portion of the proceeds to autism research, something that is close to my heart. So, stay tuned and every so often I will be posting pictures of what I have been creating in my little sewing closet!
