Starting a business...

I have decided to create my own business. I am the type of person who needs to have everything planned out from A-Z first (shipping, website costs, material, etc, etc, etc) So I decided while I am researching and planning all of that out I will offer my diaper totes/clutches and coordinating wipes cases through my blog. As of right I have set preliminary prices. So those of you purchasing now, may benefit from a low price. As I get going I may see the need to increase the price based on materials (etc), but this is what I think is fair now. Diaper totes/clutches will be $14.99 and wipes cases will be $9.99. Shipping and handling is the fun part of the equation (total sarcasm in my voice). From my preliminary calculations shipping for 1 bag and 1 wipes case will be $5. I am not trying to make $$ off shipping, so the more I learn about this, shipping prices may change. For now I will be accepting payment through paypal or if you choose you can send me a check and once it clears, production of your item(s) will begin.

****I will be donating 10% of all sales (not including shipping price) to autism research. This is something that is near and dear to my heart and affects my family.

Your job as a buyer, or even just a lurker, is to give me feedback on 2 things:
A) Should it be called a Diaper Tote, Diaper Clutch, or Diaper Case
B) Give me ideas for a name of a “store”

Diaper (whatever I decide to call it...) Tote: $14.99

Large enough to hold 3 size 5 diapers, a wipes case, butt paste of your choice, and a disposable changing pad. Are you tired of finding scrunched up diapers at the bottom of your diaper bag, not being able to find the tube of butt paste, or just want to carry your supplies in something nicer than a Ziploc bag? When running into the restroom to change your precious little one, it's much easier to just carry in this clutch than lugging your entire diaper bag in and trying to find somewhere for it go, so as not to touch the floor! Dad's love this simple carrying case rather than carrying your diaper bag/purse and are more apt to change diapers in public!!

Examples of totes using my latest design. Each bag is top stitched and has a button closure.
Wipes Case: $9.99
Covered to coordinate with your diaper tote or just order it alone. It's easier to find in your bag and be the envy of all your friends at the park when you whip out your fancy wipes case. I use a standard size case that holds ~24 wipes. The top is padded and edges are covered with trim. The wipes case you receive will be new and full of wipes. (Scroll down on the blog to see examples of some wipes cases I've made. I have the fabric to make those two as well if you are interested: Plaid flannel and blue Hawaiian)

How it works....

Choose your fabrics....Choose 2 fabrics and specify which one you want on the outside and which one will be on the inside. I use button closures on my bags (because I like buttons!!) if you'd rather a Velcro closure, add $2 to total price and please specify in your order. Email me (lbroselli@yahoo.com) with what you want and I will provide you with an invoice. You can then either submit payment via paypal or check.

Cotton Fabrics:

Green w/ Dots, Purple w/ Dots

Brown Pinwheels w/ orange interior

Brown w/ Light Blues...Paisley, dots, circles, and flowers

Brown w/ Light Pinks....Circles, dots, flowers, butterflies, stripes

Corduroy Fabrics (exterior w/ cotton solid interior):Stripes...choose purple or navy interiorPaisley...choose purple or navy interior

Flowers....choose tan flower or navy flower as exterior. (Both will have a solid navy interior)

My Timing's off...

I was talking to the lady at Joann's yesterday about my sewing. I can't figure out why my bobbin thread skips and bunches sometimes. I've thought maybe I've been doing something wrong or using the wrong type of needle. Sine I'm pretty much self taught, I have been frustrated trying to fix my errors. To my relief she said she thinks it has nothing to do with me (YEAH) and that the timing on my machine is off and I should take it in to the local guy to get serviced. I'm going to try to drop it off this week. Luckily I just got my backup machine back from my sister, so I'll set that up to try to get some stuff done. I promised a friend that I would make some things for her La Leche League fundraiser next week, so I need a working machine.

Blankie

I made this small blankie (~12X12) with star flannel fabric on one side and a pale blue start minkee fabric on the other. I really like how this turned out. I would've loved to have put a satin binding on it (instead of just topstitching), but for the life of me I can't make binding work correctly on the corners.
I really like this picture below because I feel like you can see how soft the minkee is.

Easy Craft...no sew

I made these clothes separaters for a friend who is having baby girl soon. I used foam door hangers, black sharpie, # stencils, 3D foam stickers. After I finished I used scissors and cut a slit in the door knob part so it could slip onto the closet rod. On the reverse side of the early month ones, I made 2T, 3T, & 4T. I figure by the time she's done using the 0-3 and 3-6, she can turn them around and put them at the end of the closet for the bigger sizes. This is an easy project for a baby shower gift, I wish I had done this for myself in the beginning (I actually bought an extra set for to use in Kelsey's closet as well)
